Imagine a benevolent cult, where 16 people per 2 week season are invited to come and stay in a remote beautiful estate. Each season began with a secret day long, multi stage opening ceremony, where rituals took place to encourage people to connect on day 1. Every single person joining the retreat agreed to throw one event and cook one dinner for the whole group. Guests got to know each other deeply through experiencing their home cooked food: from whole suckling pig luaus, to molecular gastronomy, to immersive themed dinners, the food was an adventure in itself. The events people gifted ranged from boundary pushing shibari experiences, to attending your own funeral, to simply a fantastic hike in Zion National Park. Each season finished with a closing ceremony where where everyone emerged transformed and with a lot of new close friends. The Exeat community took on a life of its own after the events ended and is still very active today.
