Navigating to Solutions for

Ocean-Based Carbon Dioxide Removal

Hosted by [C]Worthy, the Carbon to Sea Initiative, and the Environmental Defense Fund

Thursday, 26 September 2024, 9am-11am

We’re thrilled to invite you to a breakfast during Climate Week NYC, where a select group of leaders will gather for a focused discussion on ocean-based carbon dioxide removal (CDR) as a promising strategy for mitigating climate change.

The IPCC's latest reports emphasize that achieving the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C will require large-scale CDR. Ocean-based methods are emerging as some of the most promising approaches. This event will provide a unique opportunity to explore the critical elements necessary to responsibly advance ocean-based CDR —– including the roles of philanthropy, business, policy, and science.

The discussion will feature a panel of experts sharing insights into the significant advances made in recent years and strategies for further accelerating progress. We are honored to have Giana Amador, Executive Director of the Carbon Removal Alliance, as our moderator. She will be joined by:

  • Diane Hoskins, Director of Policy at the Carbon to Sea Initiative

  • Joanne Klitzke, Strategy and Operations at Stripe/Frontier

  • Dr. Kristin Kleisner, Associate Vice President and Lead Senior Scientist, Ocean Science at EDF

  • Dr. Matt Long, Co-Founder and CEO of [C]Worthy

Tailored specifically to address the pressing questions of this audience, the discussion will cut through the noise and offer first-hand insights. Your participation would greatly enrich this discussion and help shape the future of ocean-based CDR as a safe, effective, and economically viable solution.
